DIG IT DOES OKAY

We here at Dig It hope all weathered Fay okay. We had some windy gusts and rain. Our hopes that by the end of the day all of our pickings up and packing ups will be returned to its normal state and business will return to normal. Our guests are really tired of the rain and we are sure everyone would like our photo days to return. All in all it was a dreary week and we are looking forward to some sunny playtime. Labor Day is fast approaching marking the end of summer and we are certainly looking ahead to fall. We have lots to do and the rain seems to have stopped for now so our pups need to go out. We will close for now, God bless and have a great week.

THERE IS A STORM A COMIN

First let me apologize for the lack of a blog last Sunday. We experienced a lot of computer difficulty. Our computer just froze and it wouldn't let us do anything. So to catch everyone up on the events at Dig It the last couple of weeks it has been very busy and hot. We have had lots of new faces here and plenty of repeat pups here. Even the rain couldn't get the puppies from lots of playtime. We are trying to get ready for a storm or hurricane around here. Our building is built strong and able to withstand a major Hurricane, but instead of caring for others dogs we will bring our own four legged family members over so we can comfort and care for them. We have picked up all the toys in the yards and all the guys here are looking at us like " What are you doing taking all our fun stuff away?" It is a blessing in disguise I guess that the majority of our visitors leave us today and tomorrow. So we are going to take it a little slow, maybe catch our breath and see how the storm grows through the night. So I will close for now and hope that all are safe and we will catch up with everyone later. God 's blessings to all.

SUMMER DAYS AT DIG IT

Another full week at Dig It has come and gone. We have had quite a few new and old familiar faces here this week. It has been a week for summer storms and rain. It is very apparent that there are a lot of canine friends that are terribly afraid of thunder and rain. What are you going to do? It is Florida and afternoon storms are a pretty common occurrence. It is hard to keep a straight face when you have a 130 pound pooch who wants to climb into your lap when the first clap of thunder hits or a drop of rain spills from the sky. It amazes me though that that same puppy will run rings around you to get to the water hose, so .... We are picking up in our kennel attendance and our customers are coming back so we are extremely blessed. We really thought that it would take us at least a year or better to be able to say our facility is full, but thanks to our loyal customers and friends the word is getting out and we are truly grateful. Thank you to all who have helped to spread the word about Dig It. We have added a new feature this week to our kennel program in that we are trying a new VIP play package. This package allows your pup to spend the night in our playroom/bedroom with the overnight keeper on duty. I don't know exactly how this is going to work yet, but we will let you know next week since we have a VIP customer in house right now. I will say HE LOVES IT. I now need to fold the last of the towels since all the dogs had to be dried a little tonight, summer rain again.
We hope you all have a great week and God bless.

A FULL WEEK

First let me say it has been a very busy week at Dig It Kennels... In order to post pictures and make sure all our boarders have a great time we have had to put our blog on the back burner, so Jeannie and I decided that Sunday night would be the best time to keep everyone up-to-date on what is happening at the kennels. We apologize that we can't keep it up every day,but we do need a little down time. We have had a really good week. There were some pretty terrific thunderstorms, but all in all lots of sunshine. Lots of new four legged friends this week and some old ones returned to visit again. I know that I can't possibly name every baby but I know that everyone has looked at the pics and saw lots of familiar faces. We did say goodbye to Kayco this week and Carly will leave us in the morning. Our picture of the week was Achilles and Mia they were weekend visitors and you can see they could really go after the ball. Scrappy is back and such a happy camper, he has had lots of playtime with many new friends. Grandma Susie's lap stayed very full with lots of pets and hugs for our smaller guests. But even Desi had her small lap full with Boxer sugar from Faith and Jenna. I wish I could tell you all about every single day, but...... I do promise to try to take a few notes this week so I can do better. So until next Sunday- Have a great week and God Bless.

A good day!

Today was a good day. Plenty of sunshine and plenty of playtime. Spider joined us today, he's 14 and still likes to chase the ball! Pumpkin is back for a visit AND her buddy Augie seemed to remember her. Pumpkin, Carley and Augie had a BLAST! Milo is feeling better today and he and Max had themselves a little fun. Bella and Kayco did their usual Bella is play hard and sleep, while Kayco is play soft and relax. Bubble Gum loves to run laps while her housemates Mozart and Constance piddle around the yard. Scully is STILL ball CRAZY and made us throw it at least one thousand times today, while her housemate Penny sat on the sidelines in someones lap to watch the "Scully Show". It was a good day!

It's been a long day today! The rains came but so did the sunshine! We introduced Max to a small play group today. He did very well with Carley and her new very best buddy Augie, they are a match! Bella played with everyone and Penny just likes a cozy lap to sit in. Bubble Gum, Mozart and Constanza explored every inch of the play yard many times over today. Scully retrieved the ball over and over and over, she was so tired I could hear her say "PLEASE don't throw it" she cant help herself, if you throw it her genetics tell her she MUST retrieve it and she does. Kayco has been here for a long while and she is tired. Her play is a few laps and then she plops on the outside bed by our feet. Milo has hurt his foot so today was bed rest for him. He is NOT happy about it, I tell him its for his own good but I don't think he believes me at all! It was a wet, hot, crazy day but lots of fun was had!

Pretty good day!

It wasn't perfect by any means BUT we did get good breaks in the rain with some sunshine. The dogs were able to get out and run off some energy! I think they all had a pretty good day. Newcomers Constanza, Mozart and Bubble Gum got here and already seem to be settling in. Zizek and Molly left us and went home TIRED and very content with their stay! Carley is still moping about here best friend Kira leaving us, but seems to be taking up with Scully for her playtime enjoyment. Penny sees no reason to play when one of us will hold her. She looks at the others and I can hear her say "hey, just give them the sad dog look and your getting some lap time!" I'm not completely positive but I do believe Bella has finally worn herself out! She is one ball chasing fool! Ugee must be feeling very comfy because he has picked up a strut while cruising down the kennel way as if to say "Yes, I'm Ugee its my turn to play and hahaha you can't get me" . The night is early and we still have some light for a few more minutes of play, so I'm off.
