DIG IT DOES OKAY
We here at Dig It hope all weathered Fay okay. We had some windy gusts and rain. Our hopes that by the end of the day all of our pickings up and packing ups will be returned to its normal state and business will return to normal. Our guests are really tired of the rain and we are sure everyone would like our photo days to return. All in all it was a dreary week and we are looking forward to some sunny playtime. Labor Day is fast approaching marking the end of summer and we are certainly looking ahead to fall. We have lots to do and the rain seems to have stopped for now so our pups need to go out. We will close for now, God bless and have a great week.

THERE IS A STORM A COMIN
First let me apologize for the lack of a blog last Sunday. We experienced a lot of computer difficulty. Our computer just froze and it wouldn't let us do anything. So to catch everyone up on the events at Dig It the last couple of weeks it has been very busy and hot. We have had lots of new faces here and plenty of repeat pups here. Even the rain couldn't get the puppies from lots of playtime. We are trying to get ready for a storm or hurricane around here. Our building is built strong and able to withstand a major Hurricane, but instead of caring for others dogs we will bring our own four legged family members over so we can comfort and care for them. We have picked up all the toys in the yards and all the guys here are looking at us like " What are you doing taking all our fun stuff away?" It is a blessing in disguise I guess that the majority of our visitors leave us today and tomorrow. So we are going to take it a little slow, maybe catch our breath and see how the storm grows through the night. So I will close for now and hope that all are safe and we will catch up with everyone later. God 's blessings to all.

SUMMER DAYS AT DIG IT
Another full week at Dig It has come and gone. We have had quite a few new and old familiar faces here this week. It has been a week for summer storms and rain. It is very apparent that there are a lot of canine friends that are terribly afraid of thunder and rain. What are you going to do? It is Florida and afternoon storms are a pretty common occurrence. It is hard to keep a straight face when you have a 130 pound pooch who wants to climb into your lap when the first clap of thunder hits or a drop of rain spills from the sky. It amazes me though that that same puppy will run rings around you to get to the water hose, so .... We are picking up in our kennel attendance and our customers are coming back so we are extremely blessed. We really thought that it would take us at least a year or better to be able to say our facility is full, but thanks to our loyal customers and friends the word is getting out and we are truly grateful. Thank you to all who have helped to spread the word about Dig It. We have added a new feature this week to our kennel program in that we are trying a new VIP play package. This package allows your pup to spend the night in our playroom/bedroom with the overnight keeper on duty. I don't know exactly how this is going to work yet, but we will let you know next week since we have a VIP customer in house right now. I will say HE LOVES IT. I now need to fold the last of the towels since all the dogs had to be dried a little tonight, summer rain again.
We hope you all have a great week and God bless.
We hope you all have a great week and God bless.

A FULL WEEK
First let me say it has been a very busy week at Dig It Kennels... In order to post pictures and make sure all our boarders have a great time we have had to put our blog on the back burner, so Jeannie and I decided that Sunday night would be the best time to keep everyone up-to-date on what is happening at the kennels. We apologize that we can't keep it up every day,but we do need a little down time. We have had a really good week. There were some pretty terrific thunderstorms, but all in all lots of sunshine. Lots of new four legged friends this week and some old ones returned to visit again. I know that I can't possibly name every baby but I know that everyone has looked at the pics and saw lots of familiar faces. We did say goodbye to Kayco this week and Carly will leave us in the morning. Our picture of the week was Achilles and Mia they were weekend visitors and you can see they could really go after the ball. Scrappy is back and such a happy camper, he has had lots of playtime with many new friends. Grandma Susie's lap stayed very full with lots of pets and hugs for our smaller guests. But even Desi had her small lap full with Boxer sugar from Faith and Jenna. I wish I could tell you all about every single day, but...... I do promise to try to take a few notes this week so I can do better. So until next Sunday- Have a great week and God Bless.

A good day!
Today was a good day. Plenty of sunshine and plenty of playtime. Spider joined us today, he's 14 and still likes to chase the ball! Pumpkin is back for a visit AND her buddy Augie seemed to remember her. Pumpkin, Carley and Augie had a BLAST! Milo is feeling better today and he and Max had themselves a little fun. Bella and Kayco did their usual Bella is play hard and sleep, while Kayco is play soft and relax. Bubble Gum loves to run laps while her housemates Mozart and Constance piddle around the yard. Scully is STILL ball CRAZY and made us throw it at least one thousand times today, while her housemate Penny sat on the sidelines in someones lap to watch the "Scully Show". It was a good day!
Friday, July 18, 2008
It's been a long day today! The rains came but so did the sunshine! We introduced Max to a small play group today. He did very well with Carley and her new very best buddy Augie, they are a match! Bella played with everyone and Penny just likes a cozy lap to sit in. Bubble Gum, Mozart and Constanza explored every inch of the play yard many times over today. Scully retrieved the ball over and over and over, she was so tired I could hear her say "PLEASE don't throw it" she cant help herself, if you throw it her genetics tell her she MUST retrieve it and she does. Kayco has been here for a long while and she is tired. Her play is a few laps and then she plops on the outside bed by our feet. Milo has hurt his foot so today was bed rest for him. He is NOT happy about it, I tell him its for his own good but I don't think he believes me at all! It was a wet, hot, crazy day but lots of fun was had!

Pretty good day!
It wasn't perfect by any means BUT we did get good breaks in the rain with some sunshine. The dogs were able to get out and run off some energy! I think they all had a pretty good day. Newcomers Constanza, Mozart and Bubble Gum got here and already seem to be settling in. Zizek and Molly left us and went home TIRED and very content with their stay! Carley is still moping about here best friend Kira leaving us, but seems to be taking up with Scully for her playtime enjoyment. Penny sees no reason to play when one of us will hold her. She looks at the others and I can hear her say "hey, just give them the sad dog look and your getting some lap time!" I'm not completely positive but I do believe Bella has finally worn herself out! She is one ball chasing fool! Ugee must be feeling very comfy because he has picked up a strut while cruising down the kennel way as if to say "Yes, I'm Ugee its my turn to play and hahaha you can't get me" . The night is early and we still have some light for a few more minutes of play, so I'm off.

Crappy Hump Day
The weather was HORRIBLE today. We could not even get any good pics. Rain on the camera, dogs playing lightly in between the downpours. Not a fun day here at Dig It! We got several new guests in today, Milo and Max and then Penny and Scully we hope tomorrow will bring back a little sunshine so we can show the newbies a good time! It was a sad day too, as our girl Kira left us for here new home in NJ. A call in the afternoon con firmed she made it safe and was HAPPY to be reunited with her family! Dogs are all quiet and tucked in bed early as another round of storms approach.

OVERCAST TUESDAY
Today was another hot hot day! The morning was sunny and bright, picture perfect for Jada, Max, Ugee, and Frank. They ran and played until the clouds and thunder started to move in. Bailey,Bella, JJ, Zoe and Gigi got time to run and play in the Dig It Hole too. We had newcomers Molly and Zizek join us for play time and make new friends. Kira, Kayco and Carly have just about played out, all they want to do is walk around and lay in the warm sunshine. In the early afternoon the clouds rolled in and the weather became oppressively sticky. We all just wanted to play in the water and Zizek showed us all how that should be done. Napoleon left along with Max and Jada. The thunder is still echoing in the distance and lightning can be seen afar so I am sure that tonight will be an early to bed evening, but even that is okay with the gang since everyone has played hard today. And if they didn't really play hard then they have been playing hard for the last week. That's it for us too, goodnight.

HOT!
Well another day of beautiful sunshine BUT unlike the past few pleasant days today it was HOT, I'm talking SCORCHER! The dogs didn't seemed to mind early on and played hard, but it has caught up to them tonight! Its only 8:30 and EVERY dog in the place is sawing logs! Ugee the new boy joined in the games as soon as he arrived and even thought its his first day here, he too is sound asleep! It was a good day, everyone played hard, eat well and is now off to dream land!!

Super Saturday
Today was a great day for our four legged guests. The sky was sunny, the breeze cool , the grass green and the dogs played, and played and played! EVERY dog got play time today even those on basic board. It was a pleasure seeing them enjoy the sunshine and green grass. We got some good pics today, but dead batteries (again) kept us from posting everyone tonight. We don't post on Sundays, but tomorrow we will post pics of those we did not get up tonight. There will be no blog tomorrow, so enjoy the pics and enjoy your vacations knowing everyone here is having a great time!

Quiet Friday
Its been a quiet day today. Most of the dogs have been in for several days and have flat worn themselves out with play! The newcomers GiGi and Zoe fit right into playgroups and have been the life of the party so to say, plus they have ALL the boys googoo for them. Napoleon has enjoyed his time outside. The old man Baby feels frisky in the mornings and enjoys a good romp but poops out fast and then enjoys the inside AC. Bart does not understand why he cant be part of a playgroup, but has a blast all on his own! Kira, Kayco and Carley have become BFF's and could/would play all day if we let them. Bella and Max think JJ and Frank are super-cool and LOVE playing "hey, you chase me and I will chase you" We have a "pack" of good dogs in right now, and they are having a blast!
Sorry for no BLOG last night, BUT my computer said "disabled cookies" whatever that means!

Hump Day Again
Oh, Wednesday! Today we said goodbye to the old girl Heidi, what a spunky little thing she is! Sweet, sweet Shadow left us too. We checked in Max the Pug and Frank & JJ, they are the ultimate odd couple but they like to play so they will fit it just fine here! Its time to start getting ready for the weekend, so we have been busy, busy, busy. Our play groups shrink as dogs leave us, and then turn around are grow with the newcomers! The motto with the dogs here tonight seems to be "play hard and sleep"

TUESDAY TUESDAY TUESDAY
TUESDAY So many times today I asked "What day is it?" Time seems to run together. We had a great day in the playyard. A lot of our guests have been here a good amount of time and play so well together that the morning went very smooth and carefree. The dogs know which groups they are in and patiently wait their turn. It is so cool to see all the yard filled with playing happy pups. Then the storms came, such thunder booms and lightning, but the great thing was everyone was so played out that it was a great time to take a nap. After the storms subsided we all went back outside to play some more. Today Roxie, Logan , Lola, and Oreo left us. Tomorrow is another day and tonight is well on its way. Time to wash doggie food bowls, put out fresh water, check the blankets and tuck everyone safely in for the night. Time to say Tuesday is done. GOODNIGHT

MONDAY WASH DAY
Like in the days of old, Monday was wash day. Not only did the guys that had to leave today have to get the baths, ears and nails cleaned and trimmed, but we had tons of cleaning and washing to do. Do you have any idea how many towels and blankets we went through this weekend? Believe me it is late and we are still trying to catch up on the laundry and bathing that has to done before a 7am check-out. We are not complaining just tired. After saying last night was no bark night I was mistaken. It turns out that even though everyone was all played out there was one that shall remain nameless that just barked and barked and barked. So we are trying to finish all the cleaning that has to be done and still trying to get in some sleep time. All in all it was a good play day. The weather was great, not nearly as hot. There was a cool breeze most of the time and all the playgroups had a great time. Early morning play proved to be brisk running and chasing. As the day progressed everyone including us slowed way down. By the time the afternoon storms came the kennel was quiet except for an occasional snore. After evening romps all are tucked in for the night and we are finally heading that way too! Good night

NO BARKING TONIGHT
Dig it Kennels will have NO BARKING TONIGHT. As we near the end of the holiday weekend we can honestly say we are all DOG tired. Not only are our four footed friends tired but the family here is worn out too. We did our very best to provide lots of outdoor activities for all your babies. I can say that Rambo, Roxie, Bella, Kelsie, Kayco, Bailey, Monkey, Angel, Oreo, Kira, Carley, Sam, Simon, Zeke, Duke, Cole, Shadow, Petey, Maddison, Roxy, Logan, Fabi, Bogie, Molly, Lola, Ada, Cosmo, Bart, and Loki are completely played out tonight. Our youngest guest Vixen left today under protest, she really wanted to play more, but there really wasn't a single dog that had the energy to keep up with her. We had to say goodbye to quite a few and hello to Thomas. Anyway it is late Sunday evening and there is lots of SNORING going on but NO BARKING TONIGHT.

SUNNY SATURDAY
Today was a picture perfect sunny Florida day. It was hot but, it seemed a little breeze always appeared when we needed it most. The pooches played hard all day. The weekend is drawing to an end and some of the guys had to leave today. Godfrey had to say goodbye to his little sweetheart Bella and then we had to say goodbye to him. Maple everyones' playmate had to go home and now Vixen, Cole, Carly, Zeke, Bella, Duke, Fabi, and Oreo will really miss her. Bailey finally made the plunge into the swimming pool with Roxy and Rambo. Grandma Susie will miss Max and Frenchy, but we have a 17 year old mini pin, Heidi who will require some lap time. Kira and Kayco have new friend in Loki. Princess Lola is still holding court checking out the new shepherd, Bart. Ada had a blast chasing the water while Cosmo just chilled out under the mister. Roxie and Logan took many leisurely strolls around the play park and Molly played in the Dig It Hole. Madison and Petey will miss having Sampson to exchange barks with since he also had to go home. Monkey and Angel had a full day playing in the sun as well as Bogie. I do hope as our kennel stays fuller and the days get longer that I don't accidently leave a single name out but, I promise that we have enjoyed each and everyone of the dogs and puppies. This has been a long and tiring weekend but I assure you that all the dogs here will go home from their vacation tired and happy. We hope everyone has a safe return home after their holiday. It is late and now the storm clouds and thunder is booming, so we will close everyone up for the night . Goodnight.....

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY
Today is the fourth of July and we had a great day. All of our puppies had a busy busy day. We had several play groups and a lot of twosomes. Our playyards stayed occupied and there was fun by all. The dogs that love the water played until they were soaked and the others just soaked up the sun. In the early afternoon we had a little cookout and even the dogs got part of the goodies. All in all we had a exciting day. Please check out our fourth portraits and photos. We have not been able to post all the portraits so look tomorrow if you don't find your baby. It has been a long day and a lot of the dogs are a little stressed over the firework booms so I will close to take extra care of them. HAPPY FOURTH !!!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY
Today is the day my sister, my mother and myself (along with the rest of our families) will remember. We did it and we have managed to survive it all quite well. Our dream of a family kennel has been in existence for a very long time and today we made it. For the first time since we opened the doors of Dig It we are full. All the hard work, energy, and new ideas on how our kennel and play park should be run has helped us be the place where you want to board your family pets. Today was a full and fun day. The weather was not too bad and the play groups had lots of running and barking and just plain fun. Our family worked very hard to make sure that Godfrey, Bella, Kelsie, Kayco, Vixen, Mickey, Bailey, Zeke,Oreo, Kira, Carly, Maple, Sam, Simon, Fabi, Duke, Cole, Shadow, Maddison, Petey,Roxie, Rambo, Lola, Ada, Cosmo, Molly, Sampson, Bella, Roxy, Logan, Max, Frenchy and Bogie. What a diversified collection of wonderful pets. Thanks and Happy Holiday Weekend.

At this point in time we have Oreo, Roxy, Logan, Lola, Sampson, Bella, Godfrey, Kelsie, Kayco, Mickey,Kira, Carley, Maple, Sam, Simon, Shadow, Rambo, Roxie, Max, Frenchie, Molly, Bailey, Prince, William and Tommy. That is a lot of playtime.... More to arrive tomorrow. Let us hope the weather is better. We are damp and tired. Until tomorrow.....

BUSY PLAY DAY
Today was a great play day!!! The weather was warm but not too hot. The groups had some additions, repeat players Sam and Simon were really excited to be back. Kelsie came back to play with Carly, Mia, Maple, Shadow and Mickey. Molly decided her time would be best spent digging in the dig it hole. Rambo and Roxie had a great time playing in the new pool. Our little poodles Max and Frenchie just wanted lots of lap time and Sir Godfrey decided that he liked taking a stroll around the grounds with the Westie trio Prince, William and Tommy. Kira and Kayco tore things up with lots of running and tough sounding growls at each other. Bailey decided that he really liked playing with Mia, but she had to leave us today. All in all it was a really good day until oops.... we are so sorry that no pictures were posted tonight all of the batteries in all of the cameras died at just about the same time. We have come up with a solution bought a lot of extra batteries and hopefully everything will return to the normal tomorrow. it is late and everyone is tucked in so goodnight.

IT IS A MONDAY
Today was the beginning of the 4th of July vacations. We had lots of new faces to join our play groups. We had daycare newcomers Prince,William and Tommy along with Benjamin and Bailey. Carly, Mia and Shadow made a new friend in Maple. We also had some old friends return Godfrey and the very first dog to stay at Dig It, Molly. Mickey who has been here the longest at present gets along with just about everyone had lots of barking at the new faces and the one that left today. Chewy and Mack had to go home as well as Milo. Roxie and Rambo had lots of fun time with Kole, Ashley, Naomi and Desiree. It is so great that summer is here and we can enjoy our kids helping out. Lori had time for everyone but especially enjoyed the rough and tough antics of Kira and Kayco. Grandma Susie had lots of lap room for Max and Frenchie. Jeannie and myself are ready to call it a day and looking forward to the surprises tomorrow might bring.

Hot Summer Sunday
Another end to a busy week. The hot summer days are here and we all feel it. Mickey thinks he would rather stay inside. His friends wanted him to play but... Turner, Carly, Shadow, Milo and Mia had a great time. They ran and ran and ran, after which they discovered how much fun could be had in the Dig It Hole. The idea of everyone digging in the same place at once was a wonderful time for all. In two of the playyards we installed misters for more cooling water fun, Roxie and Rambo think they are great. They wanted Rosco and Jessie to join them in the pool but, they would have no part in the water games. Kayco and Kira had a great time trying to decide which of the two of them would be the faster in a race. Our most sedate members of the kennel at this time are Max and Frenchy they just enjoy being held. Chewy and Mac lost two of their play group when Sierra and Sasha went home. Lola and Molly had to say goodbye today along with Rosco, Jessie, Turner and our biggest guest Buster. Before leaving everyone had a Happy 4th of July portrait, we hope you check them out on our Flickr account later this week. It is the end of the day and the end of the week and we almost at the end of the month, we are all dog tired. More tomorrow.

One CRAZY day!
WOW what a day, I am glad its over! Our phones worked only 1/4 of the time today, they would cut off in the middle of conversation! Our computer mouse bit the dust, our chief pooper scooper played hooker and we got in 7 new dogs! Shadow, a super cute mix who looks just like my childhood dog Momo. Milo, a BEAUTIFUL yellow Lab show pup, who comes for visits a lot. Mia, the sweetest German Shepard pup, Rosco and Jessie two Rat Terriers who seem to get along with everyone. Sasha and Sierra, two super white, super fluffy American Eskimo's and Lizzy the best little Beagle who came for day care with her buddy Bailey. Everyone played well, and we had some great play groups going. The weather held out all day and by 6 the dogs were POOPED! We got our mister systems up and running today, so that helps out in the heat of the day. Anza and Dozer left us today. They were here for a long time, and the place seems a little sad tonight!

Stormy Thursday
Once again today start off beautiful! Sunshine and fresh clean air. Kira came today, a lovely Boxer. Chewy and Mac also arrived, they have been here before, so they came in knowing how everything works and they headed straight for the play yard! Lola another regular came for a visit today, she is the cutest thing EVER! A very sweet LITTLE Maltese. Kayco, Kira and Carley had a blast running until their tongues hit the ground. Mickey just wants to play and could care less who he is playing with, his motto "RUN and let me chase you"!! Molly and Lola had a great time in the playroom, and Anza and Dozer hit the dig it hole for some serious "diggin". Bailey had a great time until the storms started back up. Tomorrow is another day and lets home the bad storms are over for a time.

Bad, Bad, Bad Weather Wednesday
Toady started off nice, BUT by mid day all heck broke loose in the sky! We had some serious thunderstorms roll thru. Poor dogs were stuck in the kennels for fear we would loose power and we would all be running around in the dark! For the most part everyone did ok. We got a new girl in today, Carly a BEAUTIFUL 9 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback. maybe I'm a little bias since Carly was born at my house! She settled in nicely and made friends with Benjamin and Bailey. The storms are starting back up, some I am off the computer! Make sure you check out the flickr account for the pics!

Bones and Balls Tuesday
Today was a beautiful day until late in the afternoon. Just a few dogs in house meant EXTRA, EXTRA playtime in the yards. We got new tennis balls, so it was play fetch till ya drop, that would be us dropping and not the dogs. I think they could have played all darn day! As the weather got bad everyone came inside for a special treat....big beef bones and OH BOY did they enjoy them! I'm not talking little bones I'm talking big ones, in fact I think the bones were bigger then three of the dogs! Everyone is tired so it should be a nice quiet night for Lori who sleeps here tonight.

SUNSHINE!
Today was a beautiful Florida day! The sun was hot, the breeze was cool and the dogs had a blast! Luke went home early, but was able to get a few hours of play in this morning with Kayco. Ben and Bailey came for day care and had a blast along with Mickey and Kayco. We let Mickey, Dozer, Anza and little Molly out this evening and they played wonderfully together and should sleep well tonight!

REALLY Wet Sunday!
Water, water and more water. It has rained again most of the day. Simon and Sam, Raja and Turner, Hiro, Bella and Pebbles all went home. They played hard, got wet and went home tired! The rest of the gang has played but been lazy. No pictures on Flickr today, but the pic of the week is up on the website. Check it out www.digitkennel.com

Rainy Saturday
Today brought us- Sam and Simon two black labs with the energy of 6! Turner and Raja neighbors who come for visits and love to play. Pebbles a very cute little poodle cross, she's learning fast that playing with others is FUN. The weather has been HORRIBLE with thunderstorms on and off all day, but we have managed to get everyone out to play in the breaks. Woody went home , he was happy to see his parents BUT he had a great time playing fetch and I am sure he will sleep good for a few days! We let Mickey (who we have nicknamed Mickey the Mouth) play with the 2 new girls Pebbles and Molly. He would stop at their kennels to say "hey pretty ladies, lets have some fun" so we let them! Anza and Dozer seem to thrive in the rain and could/would play all night if we let them. Kayco the Boxer girl is not very social with other dogs, so she must settle on playing ball with us two legged critters, but she seems to enjoy it. Hiro and Luke went out today but Luke had surgery a short while ago and all the playing with Woody has pooped him out, poor Hiro had to run and run and run and run all by himself, all the while trying hard to get Luke to play. Bella the pretty mix has a eye injury and is on private playtime, she is not very happy about it. She wants to play sooo bad with the others, but safety first.

Crazy Friday!
What looked like it was going to be a slow weekend with just 7 dogs, grew fast to 15. Today we got Bella a very pretty mix. Woody a dig handsome Choc. Lab,Luke a young Golden who is FULL of himself! Then we have Hiro a very playful Wheaton Terrier who come to visit us often and Molly a little Lhasa who thinks she is a giant dog trapped in a wee little body! Five more will come in tomorrow. Its been busy for us trying to find the right dogs to play together but I think we have their groups set. Kayco, Anza, Dozer and Mickey have been here for a while and do great in their group, so tomorrow will be lots of playing around here. Look for new pics on the Flickr account!
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Its been a nice quiet day today. We have 7 dogs in. They play nicely and most have enjoyed the water today. We were sweeping inside kennels and had oldies rock and roll on. Kayco and Anza tried to sing along, we turned the station. Trust me, a Boxer and Rat Terrier can NOT sing! Storm clouds are building, so I'm sure we will have to cut afternoon playtime short, its so hot I don't think anyone will mind. Lori got a ton of really nice pics this AM, so check out the Flickr account!

Dig It
This is a first here at Dig It Kennels! We hope this blog will allow our customers to feel more secure while we care for their pups!
Today Hildy went home early! Her bath from lastnight did'nt last long as we have had rain all night and early morning. Mom came to get her and she was still wet and dirty from her morning romp!
Anza and Dozer think the place belongs to them. Anza is a little mouthy with the new dogs and people. Dozer could care less, his motto "PLAY WITH ME"!!!!!!!
The "girls" as we call them are having a blast! Looks like all the running and playing are helping them get fit and shed a few unwanted pounds! They leave tomorrow, so play hard today girls!
